TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Connex Telecommunications Corporation (Connex), a leading Canadian National telecommunications provider to large and midsize enterprise customers, today announced the launch of “Connex Cloud,” a hosted Unified Communications Platform (UC) for businesses.

“We understand that companies want to take advantage of advanced communications capabilities but may not have the resources or desire to manage the operation. The Connex Cloud, powered by the Avaya Collaboration Pod hosted at 151 Front Street in Toronto and at another location in Quebec in the future, enables us to offer our customers multiple delivery options as part of a managed service, including per user/per month, cloud-based UC service all with the same trusted Avaya brand. We will be able to add and remove subscribers quickly to help ensure responsiveness to our customers and keep things simple for our management and operations teams.” Connex Cloud a fully-integrated, turnkey solution for virtualized applications, compute, storage and networking. Avaya is a global leader in business communications and collaboration software and services. The Connex Cloud also utilizes technologies from EMC and VMware.

The Connex Cloud will be offered to businesses and organizations across Canada, and is among the first in the country to deliver Avaya Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS)to large enterprises and the midmarket.

Connex, an Avaya Platinum Partner,and Avaya have been working on the offering for over six months. In 2013, Connex, acquired Dyna Lync, an information technology company specializing in managed services with expertise in VMware and EMC among other technologies, as part of an overall strategy to offer a cloud-based, flexible, secure, UC as a “managed service”.
